2 Chronicles 3

3 ¹ Then Solomon began to build the house of our Father in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where our Father had appeared to his father David, at the place David had prepared, on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. ² He began to build on the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign. ³ These are the foundations Solomon laid for building the house of our Father: the length was about ninety feet, by the old standard of measurement, and the width about thirty feet. ⁴ The portico across the front, along the width of the house, was about thirty feet, and its height was a hundred and twenty. He overlaid the inside with pure gold.

⁵ He paneled the main hall with cypress wood, overlaid it with fine gold, and decorated it with palm trees and chains. ⁶ He adorned the house with precious stones for beauty, and the gold was from Parvaim. ⁷ He overlaid the house—its beams, thresholds, walls, and doors—with gold, and he carved cherubim on the walls.

⁸ He made the Most Holy Place; its length, along the width of the house, was about thirty feet, and its width about thirty feet. He overlaid it with fine gold amounting to about twenty-three tons. ⁹ The nails weighed about twenty ounces of gold. He also overlaid the upper rooms with gold.

¹⁰ In the Most Holy Place he made two sculpted cherubim and overlaid them with gold. ¹¹ The wings of the cherubim together spanned about thirty feet: one wing of the first cherub, about seven and a half feet long, touched the wall of the house, and its other wing, also about seven and a half feet, touched the wing of the second cherub. ¹² And the wing of the second cherub, about seven and a half feet long, touched the wall of the house, and its other wing, also about seven and a half feet, joined the wing of the first cherub. ¹³ The wings of these cherubim spread out about thirty feet. They stood on their feet, facing the main hall.

¹⁴ He made the veil of blue, purple, and crimson yarn and fine linen, and he embroidered cherubim on it.

¹⁵ In front of the house he made two pillars about fifty-three feet long, with a capital on top of each measuring about seven and a half feet. ¹⁶ He made chains like a necklace and placed them on the tops of the pillars, and he made a hundred pomegranates and fastened them to the chains. ¹⁷ He set up the pillars in front of the temple, one on the right and one on the left. The one on the right he named Jachin, and the one on the left Boaz.
