1 1 Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians in our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: 2 Grace to you and peace from our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thankful for Your Growing Faith
3 We should always thank our Father for you, brothers and sisters — and rightly so — because your faith is growing more and more, and each one of you keeps growing in love for one another. 4 And so we ourselves boast about you among the churches of our Father, for your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and afflictions you are enduring.
5 This is evidence of our Father's righteous judgment, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of our Father, for which you are suffering. 6 For our Father is just, and he will repay with affliction those who afflict you, 7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted, along with us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his powerful angels 8 in blazing fire, bringing justice on those who do not know our Father and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from his glorious power, 10 on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy ones and marveled at among all who have believed — because our testimony to you was believed.
11 With this in mind, we always pray for you, that our Father may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good desire you have and every work prompted by faith. 12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
