Exodus 35

35 ¹Moses gathered the whole community of Israel's people and told them, "These are the things our Father commanded you to do. ²Work six days; the seventh is holy to you, a Sabbath of complete rest to our Father. Anyone who works on it must be put to death. ³You shall not light a fire in any of your homes on the Sabbath day."

A Willing-Heart Offering

⁴Moses told all Israel's assembly, "This is what our Father commanded: ⁵Take from among you a gift for our Father. Let each willing heart bring our Father's gift: gold, silver, and bronze. ⁶Blue, purple, and scarlet yarns, fine linen, goats' hair, ⁷tanned rams' skins, fine leather, and acacia wood, ⁸oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, ⁹and onyx stones and stones for setting, for the ephod and for the breastpiece.

¹⁰"Let every skillful person among you come and make all that our Father has commanded: ¹¹the tabernacle: its tent, cover, clasps, frames, bars, posts, and bases, ¹²the ark with its poles, the mercy seat, and the veil that screens it; ¹³the table with its poles and all its utensils, and the bread of the Presence; ¹⁴the lampstand for the light, with its utensils and its lamps, and the oil for the light; ¹⁵the incense altar and its poles; anointing oil and fragrant incense; and the screen for the tabernacle entrance; ¹⁶the burnt-offering altar with its bronze grate, poles, and all its utensils; the basin and its stand, ¹⁷the courtyard's curtains, its pillars and bases, and the screen for its gate, ¹⁸the pegs of the tabernacle and the pegs of the courtyard, with their cords; ¹⁹the finely woven garments for serving in the Holy Place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments for his sons to serve as priests."

²⁰Then all the congregation of the people of Israel left Moses. ²¹Everyone whose heart stirred him, everyone whose spirit moved him, brought our Father's contribution for the tent of meeting's work, all its service, and the holy garments. ²²Men and women came together; all who were willing-hearted brought brooches, earrings, signet rings, and armlets—every kind of gold object—and everyone presented a wave offering of gold to our Father. ^a a v22 A wave offering was a gift formally lifted and presented before God as an act of dedication. ²³Everyone who had blue, purple, or scarlet yarn, fine linen, goat hair, tanned ram skins, or fine leather brought them. ²⁴Everyone who could give a contribution of silver or bronze brought it as our Father's contribution; everyone with acacia wood for any task of the work brought it. ²⁵Every skilled woman spun with her hands and brought her spun thread: blue, purple, scarlet, and fine linen. ²⁶All the skilled women whose hearts were stirred spun the goat hair. ²⁷The leaders brought onyx stones and gems for mounting, for the ephod and for the breastpiece, ²⁸and spices, and the oil for the light, for the anointing oil, and for the fragrant incense. ²⁹Every Israelite man and woman whose heart willed it brought a voluntary offering to our Father for all the work our Father commanded through Moses.

Bezalel Called by Name

³⁰Then Moses told the Israelites, "See, our Father has called by name Bezalel son of Uri, son of Hur, of Judah's tribe, ³¹and filled him with the Spirit of our Father—skill, understanding, knowledge, and every kind of craftsmanship, ³²to devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze, ³³in cutting stones for setting and in carving wood, to work in every kind of skilled craft. ³⁴Our Father has put in Bezalel's heart to teach—he and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan. ³⁵He filled them with skill for every kind of work—engraving, designing, embroidering in blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weaving—skilled in every craft, full of ideas."
