Exodus 39

39 ¹From the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn they made finely woven garments for serving in the holy place; they made the holy garments for Aaron, as our Father commanded Moses.

²He made the ephod of gold, of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and of finely woven linen.

³They hammered gold into sheets, cut it into threads, and worked them into the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine linen—the work of a skilled designer. ⁴They made shoulder pieces for it, joined together at its two edges. ⁵The ephod's woven band was one piece with it, made the same way: gold, blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely twisted linen, as our Father commanded Moses.

⁶They made the onyx stones, mounted in gold filigree settings, engraved like seal engravings, with the names of Israel's sons. ⁷He put them on the ephod's shoulder pieces as memorial stones for Israel's sons, as our Father had commanded Moses.

The Breastpiece

⁸He made the breastpiece—skilled work like the ephod's—of gold, blue, purple, scarlet yarn, and finely twisted linen. ⁹Square and doubled, they made the breastpiece—about nine inches long and nine inches wide, doubled. ¹⁰They set in it four rows of stones. The first row was carnelian, topaz, and emerald; ¹¹the second row, turquoise, sapphire, and emerald; ¹²the third row, jacinth, agate, and amethyst; ¹³the fourth row, beryl, onyx, and jasper. They were enclosed in gold filigree settings. ¹⁴Twelve stones, one per name of Israel's sons, each engraved like a seal with its own name, for the twelve tribes. ¹⁵For the breastpiece they made braided chains of pure gold, like cords. ¹⁶They made two gold filigree settings and two gold rings, fastening the two rings to the breastpiece's two ends. ¹⁷They fastened the two gold cords to the two rings at the ends of the breastpiece. ¹⁸They put the two ends of the two cords on the two filigree settings, and put them on the ephod's shoulder pieces, at its front. ¹⁹They made two gold rings and put them on the breastpiece's two ends, on its inner edge facing the ephod. ²⁰They made two gold rings and put them on the two shoulder pieces of the ephod, low on the front, near the seam above its woven band. ²¹They fastened the breastpiece's rings to the ephod's rings with a blue cord, so it would rest on the ephod's woven band and not come loose from the ephod, as our Father commanded Moses.

The Robe and Its Hem

²²Bezalel made the robe of the ephod entirely of blue, the work of a weaver. ²³Its opening was in the center, like a collar's opening, with a woven binding around it so it wouldn't tear. ²⁴They made pomegranates of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and twisted linen on the robe's hem. ²⁵They made pure gold bells and set them between the pomegranates on the robe's hem, all around between the pomegranates. ²⁶Bell and pomegranate, bell and pomegranate, around the robe's hem for serving, as our Father commanded Moses.

²⁷For Aaron and his sons they made the tunics of fine linen, the work of a weaver, ²⁸the fine-linen turban, the beautiful fine-linen caps, and linen undergarments of finely twisted linen. ²⁹The sash: finely woven linen, blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, embroidered work, as our Father commanded Moses.

³⁰They made the holy crown's plate from pure gold, engraved like a seal: "Holy to our Father." ³¹They tied a blue cord to it, fastening it on the turban above, as our Father commanded Moses.

Everything Finished, Everything Right

³²All the work of the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, was finished. Israelites did everything our Father commanded Moses—so they did. ³³They brought Moses the tabernacle: the tent, all its furnishings, clasps, frames, crossbars, posts, and bases; ³⁴the covering of red-dyed ram skins, the covering of fine leather, and the screening curtain, ³⁵the ark of the testimony with its poles and the mercy seat; ³⁶the table with all its utensils and the bread of the Presence; ³⁷the pure gold lampstand, its arranged lamps, all its utensils, and oil for the light; ³⁸the gold altar, anointing oil, fragrant incense, and the tent entrance screen; ³⁹the bronze altar with its bronze grate, poles, and all its utensils, the basin and its stand; ⁴⁰the courtyard's curtains, posts, and bases, the courtyard entrance screen, ropes, pegs, and all the equipment for the tabernacle's service, the tent of meeting; ⁴¹and the finely woven garments for serving in the holy place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and his sons' garments for priestly service. ⁴²The people of Israel had done all the work just as our Father had commanded Moses. ⁴³Moses inspected all the work: they had done it as our Father commanded—so they had done it. Moses blessed them.
