Ezekiel 35

35 ¹The word of our Father came to me:

²Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir and prophesy against it. ³Say to it: This is what the Sovereign Father says: "Look, I am against you, Mount Seir. I will stretch my hand against you and make you a desolation and waste. ⁴I will lay your cities in ruins, and you will become a desolation. Then you will know that I am the Father.

⁵Because you held an ancient hatred and gave the people of Israel over to the sword at the time of their disaster, at the time their final punishment came," ⁶so as I live, declares the Sovereign Father, I will hand you over to bloodshed, and bloodshed will pursue you. Since you did not hate bloodshed, bloodshed will pursue you. ⁷"I will make Mount Seir a desolate waste and cut off from it all who come and go. ⁸I will fill its mountains with the slain; on your hills, valleys, and all your ravines those killed by the sword will fall. ⁹I will make you desolate forever; your cities will stay empty. Then you will know that I am the Father.

¹⁰Because you said, 'These two nations, these two lands will be mine; we'll take them'—though our Father was there," ¹¹therefore, as I live, declares the Sovereign Father, I will treat you as your anger and envy deserve, which you showed in hating Israel, and I will make myself known among Israel's people when I judge you.

¹²Then you will know I am the Father. I have heard all your contempt against Israel's mountains: "They are wasted, given us to devour." ¹³You boasted against me with your mouth and heaped up your words against me; I heard it. ¹⁴This is what the Sovereign Father says: While the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate. ¹⁵As you rejoiced because the house of Israel's inheritance was desolate, so I will do to you. You will be desolate, Mount Seir, all Edom, all of it. Then they will know that I am the Father.
