Ezra 1

1 ¹ In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, to fulfill the word of our Father spoken through Jeremiah, our Father stirred the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he sent a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and put it in writing as well:

² "This is what Cyrus king of Persia says: 'The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he has appointed me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.'" ³ "Any of you from all his people—may his God be with him—let him go up to Jerusalem in Judah and rebuild the house of the LORD, the God of Israel; he is the God who is in Jerusalem." ⁴ "And let every survivor, wherever he now lives, be helped by the people of his place with silver and gold, with goods and livestock, along with freewill offerings for the house of God in Jerusalem."

⁵ Then the heads of the families of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and Levites—everyone whose spirit our Father had stirred—set out to go up and rebuild the house of our Father in Jerusalem. ⁶ And all their neighbors supported them with articles of silver and gold, with goods and livestock and valuable gifts, besides all that was freely offered.

⁷ King Cyrus also brought out the articles of the house of our Father that Nebuchadnezzar had carried off from Jerusalem and placed in the house of his own gods. ⁸ Cyrus king of Persia had them brought out through Mithredath the treasurer, who counted them out to Sheshbazzar the prince of Judah. ⁹ This was their number: 30 gold basins, 1,000 silver basins, 29 incense burners, ¹⁰ 30 gold bowls, 410 silver bowls of another kind, and 1,000 other articles. ¹¹ The gold and silver articles numbered 5,400 in all. Sheshbazzar brought all these up when the exiles were brought up from Babylon to Jerusalem.
