2 On that day the Branch of our Father will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land will be the pride and splendor of the survivors of Israel. a a v2 The Branch is a name our Father uses for Jesus, the promised descendant of David — the same title given to him later in Jeremiah and Zechariah.
The Branch, Beautiful and Glorious
3 And whoever is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called holy — everyone recorded for life in Jerusalem. 4 when the Sovereign Father has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion and rinsed the bloodstains of Jerusalem from within her by a spirit of judgment and a spirit of burning. 5 Then our Father will create over the whole site of Mount Zion and over her assemblies a cloud by day and smoke, and a bright, flaming fire by night; for there will be a canopy over all the glory. 6 It will be a shelter to give shade from the heat by day, and a refuge and hiding place from storm and rain.
