Chapter 4.

4 ¹So wen Jesus sabi say di Pharisee dem don hear say im dey make and baptize plenty disciple pass John ²(although na Jesus imsef no dey baptize, but na im disciple dem) ³im comot for Judea and go back to Galilee. ⁴And e must pass through Samaria. ⁵So im reach one town for Samaria wey dem dey call Sychar, wey near di piece of land wey Jacob give im pikin Joseph. ⁶Jacob well dey dia. Jesus, wey tire from di journey, sidon for di well—around afternoon-time. ^a a v6 If you count from wen sun rise, di sixth hour na around afternoon-time.

⁷One woman of Samaria come draw water. Jesus tell am, "Give me water make I drink."

⁸(Because im disciple dem don enter di town go buy food.)

⁹Di Samaria woman tell am, "You be Jew; why you dey ask me, wey be Samaria woman, for water?" (Jew dem no dey mix wit Samaria people.)

¹⁰Jesus answer am, "If you know our Papa gift, and who be di one wey dey ask you, ‘Give me water make I drink,’ you for don ask am, and im for don give you living water."

¹¹Di woman tell am, "Oga, you no get anytin to draw wit, and di well deep. So wia you wan take get dis living water?" ¹²Abi you big pass our papa Jacob, wey give us di well, wey imsef sef drink from am, wit im pikin dem and im animal dem?

¹³Jesus tell am, "Everybody wey drink dis water go thirsty again, ¹⁴but anybody wey drink di water wey I go give am no go ever thirsty again; dat water go turn insai am one spring of water wey dey burst up to life wey no dey end."

¹⁵Di woman tell am, "Oga, give me dis water, so dat I no go thirsty or come here again to draw water."

¹⁶Jesus tell am, "Go, call your husband, and come back here."

¹⁷Di woman answer, "I no get husband." Jesus tell am, "You talk true say you no get husband."

¹⁸Because you don get five husband, and di man wey you get now no be your husband. You don talk di truth.

¹⁹Di woman tell am, "Oga, I see say you be prophet. ²⁰Our papa dem worship for dis mountain, but una dey talk say na Jerusalem be di place wey people must worship.

But nobody talk, "Wetin you want?" or, "Why you dey talk wit am?" ²⁸So di woman leave im water pot and go back to di town, and tell di people, ²⁹"Come, come see one man wey tell me everytin wey I don ever do. ³¹Meanwhile im disciple dem dey beg am, "Rabbi, chop somtin."

³²But im tell dem, "I get food wey I dey chop wey una no sabi anytin about am."

³³So di disciple dem dey ask each oda, "Abi person don bring somtin give am chop?"

³⁴Jesus tell dem, "My food na to do di will of di One wey send me and to finish im work." ³⁵Abi una no dey talk say, ‘Four month remain, den harvest go come’? Look, I dey tell una: raise una eye, see di farm dem—dem don white for harvest. ³⁶Di one wey dey harvest don dey collect im pay, dey gada fruit for life wey no dey end, so dat di one wey plant and di one wey harvest go fit rejoice together. ³⁷Because for here di talk dey true: ‘One person dey plant and anoda person dey harvest.’ ³⁸I send una go reap wetin una no work for. Samaria Believe

Back to Galilee

⁴³Afta di two days im comot from dia go Galilee. ⁴⁴(Because Jesus imsef bin don testify say prophet no dey get honor for im own hometown.) ⁴⁵Wen im reach Galilee, di Galilee people welcome am, because dem don see everytin wey im do for Jerusalem for di feast—dem too bin go di feast. ⁴⁶Im go again to Cana for Galilee, wia im bin turn water to wine. One royal officer pikin dey sick for Capernaum. ⁴⁷Wen im hear say Jesus don come from Judea to Galilee, im go meet am and beg am make im come down come heal im pikin, wey don near to die.

⁴⁸So Jesus tell am, "If una no see sign and wonda, una no go ever believe."

⁴⁹Di royal officer tell am, "Oga, come down before my pikin die."

⁵⁰Jesus tell am, "Go; your pikin go live." Di man believe wetin Jesus tell am and comot.

⁵¹As im dey go down, im servant dem meet am and tell am say im boy dey alive. ⁵²So im ask dem di hour wey im start to get beta, and dem tell am, "Na yesterday for di seventh hour, di fever leave am."
