Jerusalem Wey Don Scatter
Psalm wey Asaph write.
Jerusalem don turn rubble, the bodies no get burial and birds dey chop dem, and the neighbours dey enjoy am. The prayer ask our Papa for forgiveness and for revenge for the same breath, and im argument dey open: the nations dey ask where their God go.
79 1Our Papa, di nations don invade di land wey be your own; dem don defile your holy temple; dem don turn Jerusalem to ruins.
2Dem don give di dead bodies of your servants as food to di birds of di sky, di flesh of your faithful ones to di wild animals of di earth. 3Dem don pour dia blood like water all around Jerusalem, and nobody dey to bury dem. 4We don become something wey our neighbors dey scorn, dem dey mock us and laugh us, all di people wey dey around us.
5How long, our Papa? You go vex forever? Your jealousy go burn like fire? 6Pour your anger on di nations wey no know you, and on di kingdoms wey no dey call your name. 7Because dem don chop Jacob finish and don destroy im homeland. 8No hold am against us — di sins of our ancestors; make your tender mercy wey dey pain belle come quick come meet us, because dem don bring us very low well well.
9Help us, our Papa wey dey save us, for di glory of your name; rescue us and cover our sins because of your name. 10Why di nations go dey talk say, “Where dia God dey?” For our very eyes, make dem know am among di nations say you dey bring justice for di blood of your servants wey dem pour. 11Make di groaning of di prisoner reach you; by di greatness of your arm, keep di people wey dem condemn to die.
12Pay our neighbors back seven times for dia lap, for di scorn wey dem take scorn you, O Sovereign Papa. 13Den we, your people, di sheep wey you dey feed for your field, go thank you forever; from generation to generation we go tell your praise.
