Give Him Glory
A psalm of David.
29 1 Ascribe to our Father, you heavenly beings, ascribe to our Father glory and strength. a a v1 "Heavenly beings" translates a Hebrew phrase for the angelic host — the members of our Father's heavenly court, called here to worship him. 2 Ascribe to our Father the glory due his name; worship our Father in the splendor of holiness.
3 The voice of our Father is over the waters; the Father of glory thunders, our Father over the mighty waters. 4 The voice of our Father is powerful; the voice of our Father is full of majesty. 5 The voice of our Father breaks the cedars; our Father shatters the cedars of Lebanon. 6 He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, and Sirion like a young wild ox. 7 The voice of our Father flashes forth flames of fire. 8 The voice of our Father shakes the wilderness; our Father shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. 9 The voice of our Father makes the deer give birth and strips the forests bare; and in his temple all cry, "Glory!"
10 Our Father sits enthroned over the flood; our Father sits enthroned as king forever. 11 May our Father give strength to his people! May our Father bless his people with peace!
