Silence Full of Praise
For the director of music. A psalm of David. A song.
65 1 Praise awaits you in silence, our Father, in Zion; and to you our vows will be fulfilled.
2 You hear prayer, and all people will come to you. 3 When sins overwhelmed me, you atoned for our transgressions. a a v3 The forgiveness our Father provides here is made complete in Jesus, who took our transgressions upon himself so we could be brought home. 4 Blessed is the one you choose and bring near to dwell in your courts. We will be filled with the goodness of your house, the holiness of your temple.
5 You answer us with awesome deeds of righteousness, our Father who saves us, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas. 6 who set the mountains in place by his strength, clothed with power; 7 who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations. 8 Those who live at the ends of the earth stand in awe of your wonders; you make the dawn and the dusk shout for joy.
9 You care for the land and water it; you enrich it abundantly. The river of our Father is full of water; you provide the people with their grain, for this is how you have prepared the land. 10 You drench its furrows and level its ridges; you soften it with showers and bless its growth. 11 You crown the year with your goodness, and your paths overflow with abundance. 12 The wilderness pastures overflow, and the hills are wrapped in joy. 13 The meadows are clothed with flocks and the valleys are blanketed with grain; they shout for joy and sing together.
