Psalms 87

Book

Founded on Holy Ground

A psalm of the sons of Korah. A song.

Chapter 87.

He has founded his city on the holy mountains; our Father loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. Glorious things are spoken of you, city of our Father. Selah

"I will record Egypt and Babylon among those who know me; see, Philistia and Tyre, with Cush — this one was born there." a a v4 Here "Rahab" is a poetic name for Egypt, not the woman of Jericho — naming Israel's old oppressor among the nations our Father counts as born in his city. And of Zion it will be said, "This one and that one were born in her," and the Most High himself will establish her. our Father will count, as he registers the peoples, "This one was born there." Selah

Singers and dancers alike say, "All my springs are in you."
