Zechariah 2

2 ¹ Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and there before me was a man with a measuring line in his hand. ² So I asked, "Where are you going?" And he said to me, "To measure Jerusalem, to see how wide and how long it is."

³ The angel who had been speaking with me went out, and another angel came out to meet him ⁴ and said to him, "Run, speak to this young man: 'Jerusalem will be settled like open fields, because of the multitude of people and livestock within her.

⁵ And I myself will be a wall of fire around her, declares our Father, and I will be the glory in her midst.'"

⁶ "Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north, declares our Father, for I have scattered you like the four winds of the heavens, declares our Father. ⁷ Come, Zion! Escape, you who live with the daughter of Babylon.

⁸ For this is what the Father of heaven's armies says — after his glory sent me against the nations who plundered you — for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye: ⁹ "For look, I will wave my hand over them, and they will become plunder for those who served them. Then you will know that the Father of heaven's armies has sent me.

¹⁰ Sing and rejoice, daughter of Zion! For look, I am coming, and I will live in your midst, declares our Father. ¹¹ And many nations will join themselves to our Father in that day and will become my children. I will live in your midst, and you will know that the Father of heaven's armies has sent me to you. ¹² And our Father will take possession of Judah as his portion in the holy land, and he will again choose Jerusalem.

¹³ Be silent, all flesh, before our Father, for he has roused himself from his holy dwelling.
