11 1 Dishonest scales are an abomination to our Father, but accurate weights are his delight. 2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but wisdom comes with the humble. 3 The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them. 4 Wealth does not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death. 5 The righteousness of the blameless makes their way straight, but the wicked falls by his own wickedness. 6 The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the treacherous are trapped by their own craving. 7 When a wicked person dies, his hope perishes, and his confidence in his own strength comes to nothing. 8 The righteous is delivered from trouble, and the wicked comes into it in his place. 9 With his mouth the godless destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous are delivered. 10 When things go well for the righteous, the city rejoices, and when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy. 11 By the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is torn down. 12 Whoever despises his neighbor lacks sense, but a person of understanding stays silent. 13 A gossip goes about revealing secrets, but someone with a trustworthy spirit can keep a secret. 14 Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety. 15 Whoever puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer for it, but whoever hates shaking hands on a pledge is secure. 16 A gracious woman attains honor, and ruthless men attain riches. 17 A kind person benefits himself, but a cruel person brings trouble on himself. 18 The wicked earns deceptive wages, but whoever sows righteousness earns a true reward. 19 Whoever is steadfast in righteousness finds life, but whoever pursues evil runs to his own death. 20 Those of crooked heart are an abomination to our Father, but those whose ways are blameless are his delight. 21 You can be sure the evil person will not go unpunished, but the children of the righteous will go free. 22 Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion. 23 The desire of the righteous ends only in good, but the hope of the wicked ends in wrath. 24 One person gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what is right, only to end up in need. 25 A generous soul will be enriched, and whoever refreshes others will himself be refreshed. 26 The people curse whoever holds back grain, but the one who sells it is blessed. 27 Whoever diligently seeks good seeks favor, but evil comes to the one who searches for it. 28 Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like green leaves. 29 Whoever brings trouble on his own household will inherit the wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise of heart. 30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and whoever wins souls is wise. 31 If the righteous is repaid on earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!
