Psalms 112

112 ¹ Hallelujah! Blessed is the one who fears our Father, who delights greatly in his commandments. ² His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. ³ Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. ⁴ Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, compassionate, and righteous. ⁵ Things go well for the one who deals generously and lends, who manages his affairs with justice. ⁶ Surely he will never be shaken; the righteous will be remembered forever. ⁷ He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in our Father. ⁸ His heart is steady; he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his foes. ⁹ He has shared generously and given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; he is lifted high in honor. ^a a v9 Paul quotes this verse to describe the joyful, open-handed giving our Father blesses — 2 Corinthians 9:9. ¹⁰ The wicked one sees it and is angry; he gnashes his teeth and wastes away; the desire of the wicked will perish.
