Psalms 111

111 ¹ Hallelujah! I will praise our Father with all my heart, in the company of the upright and in the assembly. ² Great are the works of our Father, studied by all who delight in them. ³ Splendor and majesty mark his work, and his righteousness endures forever. ⁴ He has made his wonders to be remembered; our Father is gracious, his heart full of compassion. ⁵ He gives food to those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever. ⁶ He has shown his people the power of his works, giving them the inheritance of the nations. ⁷ The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his commands are trustworthy. ⁸ They are upheld forever and ever, carried out faithfully and with integrity. ⁹ He sent redemption to his people; he decreed his covenant forever. Holy and awesome is his name. ¹⁰ The fear of our Father is the beginning of wisdom; all who practice it gain good understanding. His praise endures forever. ^a a v10 Fear here means reverent awe and deep respect, not terror or dread.
