Psalms 135

135 ¹ Hallelujah! Praise the name of our Father; praise him, you servants of our Father, ² you who serve in the house of our Father, in the courts of the house of our Father.

³ Praise our Father, for our Father is good; sing praises to his name, for it is pleasant. ⁴ For our Father has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel as his treasured possession.

⁵ For I know that our Father is great, and our Sovereign Father is above all gods. ⁶ Whatever our Father pleased, he has done, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths. ⁷ He makes the clouds rise from the ends of the earth; he makes lightning for the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.

⁸ He struck down the firstborn of Egypt, both people and animals. ⁹ He sent signs and wonders among you, Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants. ¹⁰ He struck down many nations and killed mighty kings— ¹¹ Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan— ¹² and he gave their land as a heritage, a heritage to Israel his people.

¹³ Your name, our Father, endures forever; your fame, our Father, throughout all generations. ¹⁴ For our Father will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants.

¹⁵ The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of human hands. ¹⁶ They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see; ¹⁷ they have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there any breath in their mouths. ¹⁸ Those who make them become like them, and so do all who trust in them.

¹⁹ House of Israel, bless our Father; house of Aaron, bless our Father; ²⁰ House of Levi, bless our Father; you who fear our Father, bless our Father. ²¹ Blessed be our Father from Zion, he who dwells in Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
