Everything Belongs to Him
A psalm of David.
24 1 The earth is our Father's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it. 2 For he laid its foundations on the seas and built it on the rivers. 3 Who may climb the mountain of our Father? And who may stand in his holy place? 4 The one with clean hands and a pure heart, who does not set his heart on what is false and does not swear deceitfully. 5 He will receive blessing from our Father and righteousness from his Father who saves him. 6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, Father of Jacob. Selah. a a v6 Selah: likely a musical cue or pause for reflection during worship; also at verse 10.
7 Lift up your heads, gates! Be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. 8 Who is this King of glory? Our Father, strong and mighty, our Father, mighty in battle. b b v8 The King of glory entering the gates is our Father himself, strong to save and mighty to defend his children. 9 Lift up your heads, gates! Lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. 10 Who is he, this King of glory? The Father of heaven's armies — he is the King of glory. Selah.
