I Lift My Soul to You
Of David.
25 1 To you, my Father, I lift up my soul.
2 My Father, in you I trust; don't let me be ashamed; don't let my enemies triumph over me. 3 Indeed, none who wait for you will be ashamed; those who betray without cause will be ashamed.
4 Show me your ways, my Father; teach me your paths. 5 Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are our Father, my salvation; I wait for you all day long. 6 Remember your tender compassion, my Father, and your covenant love, for they are from long ago. 7 Do not remember the sins of my youth or my rebellions; remember me according to your covenant love, for the sake of your goodness, my Father.
8 Good and upright is our Father; therefore he instructs sinners in the way. 9 He leads the humble in justice, and teaches the humble his way. 10 All the paths of our Father are loyal love and faithfulness for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.
11 For your name's sake, my Father, forgive my iniquity, for it is great. 12 Who is the one who fears our Father? He will instruct him in the way he should choose. 13 His soul will rest in well-being, and his children will inherit the land. 14 The intimate friendship of our Father is for those who fear him, and he makes his covenant known to them. 15 My eyes are always toward our Father, for he will free my feet from the net.
16 Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. 17 The troubles of my heart have multiplied; bring me out of my distress. 18 Look on my affliction and my hardship, and take away all my sins. 19 See my enemies, for they are many, and they hate me with violent hatred.
20 Guard my soul and deliver me; don't let me be ashamed, for I take refuge in you. 21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you.
22 Redeem Israel, our Father, out of all his troubles.
