The Boastful Tongue
For the director of music. A wisdom psalm of David. When Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, "David has gone to the house of Ahimelech."
52 1 Why do you boast of evil, mighty one? The faithful love of our Father endures all day long.
2 Your tongue devises destruction, like a sharpened razor, you deceiver. 3 You love evil more than good, and lying more than speaking what is right. Selah.
4 You love every devouring word, you deceitful tongue. 5 But our Father will tear you down forever; he will snatch you up and pluck you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living. Selah.
6 The righteous will see and fear; they will laugh at him, saying, 7 "Look at the man who would not make our Father his refuge, but trusted in his great wealth and grew strong by destroying others." 8 But I am like a flourishing olive tree in the house of our Father; I trust in the faithful love of our Father forever and ever. 9 I will praise you forever for what you have done; in the presence of your faithful ones I will put my hope in your name, for it is good.
