No One Who Does Good
For the director of music, according to Mahalath. A wisdom psalm of David.
53 1 The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, doing detestable wrong; there is no one who does good. a a v1 A maskil is a type of psalm, probably a contemplative or skillfully composed poem for instruction.
2 Our Father looked down from heaven on all of humanity to see if there were any who understood, any who sought after him. 3 They have all fallen away; together they have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.
4 Do the workers of evil have no knowledge — those who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon our Father? 5 There they were, overwhelmed with dread, where there was nothing to dread; for our Father scattered the bones of him who encamped against you; you put them to shame, for our Father has rejected them.
6 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When our Father restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.
