Psalms 92

Book

A Song for the Sabbath

A psalm. A song for the Sabbath day.

Chapter 92.

It is good to give thanks to our Father, to sing praises to your name, Most High, to declare your covenant love in the morning, and your faithfulness through the nights, on the ten-stringed lute and on the harp, with the melody of the lyre. For you have made me glad, our Father, by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy. How great are your works, our Father! Your thoughts are very deep! The senseless man does not know, and the fool does not understand this:

Though the wicked sprout like grass and all evildoers flourish, they are doomed to destruction forever. But you, our Father, are on high forever. For look, your enemies, our Father look, your enemies will perish; all evildoers will be scattered. But you have raised my horn high like a wild ox; I am anointed with fresh oil. My eyes have looked on my watchful foes; my ears have heard the doom of the wicked who rise against me. The righteous flourish like the palm tree; they grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Planted in the house of our Father, they flourish in the courts of our Father. They still bear fruit in old age; they stay fresh and green, to declare that our Father is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
