Eyes Fixed on You
A psalm of David.
141 1 My Father, I call to you; come quickly to me. Listen to my voice when I cry out to you.
2 Let my prayer rise before you like incense, the lifting of my hands like the evening offering.
3 Set a guard, my Father, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips. 4 Do not let my heart turn to any evil, to join in wicked deeds alongside those who do wrong; and do not let me feast on their delicacies.
5 Let the righteous strike me—it is kindness; let him correct me—it is oil for my head; my head will not refuse it. Yet my prayer is always against the deeds of the wicked.
6 When their rulers are thrown down from the rocky cliffs, then they will hear my words, for they are pleasant. 7 As one plows and breaks open the earth, so our bones are scattered at the mouth of the grave.
8 But my eyes are fixed on you, my Sovereign Father; in you I take refuge—do not leave me defenseless. 9 Keep me from the trap they have set for me, from the snares of those who do wrong. 10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I alone pass by in safety.
